Libya’s Ministry of Economy has issued a new decree allowing foreign companies to enter joint ventures and open a representative office to study the Libyan market. It is aimed at reorganising and facilitating the process of foreign-local partnership.

Mediterranean Maritime Services, a newly registered company formed between VPJ Limited and Kucuk Shipping Limited, has launched a cargo service operating a weekly roll on-roll off cargo vessel connecting Augusta to Valletta and to Tripoli and Misurata.

Libya’s interim government will deploy more than 13,000 troops along with aircraft and naval vessels to ensure security during the the country’s first free national elections since the removal of Muammar Qaddafi.

TRIPOLI — The chief of Libya's election commission said on Sunday that 330,000 people have so far registered as voters to elect the nation's first constituent assembly in June.
