 Cheers everyone:

I would like to thank all of the participants of the forum for taking the noble stance of supporting our country in this very challenging but doable task of building the new Libya that we’re all hoping for.

I was equally, pleased with both the enthusiasm and, the goodwill showed by all  countries and, world organizations present in responding to the needs of our new fledgling state that have to be met in order that we may realize the full potential and,…

Dear Obaidah:

It's very interesting, I was born and still live in Zawit Al Dahmani.

I usually do not participate in social media like face book and its likes dues to my background in computers, we always recommend against it because of the many problems it caused in the US in crime and reduced privacy.

I'm in this forum because it serves the interest of the country.

I was in Malta when it was last held.

It's nice  to know that Surman is contributing to the empowerment of the country, there is another person , a relative of mine who was with me in Malta and also the general manager of our foundation from Surman too.

Nice to hear from a respected and learned people like you.

We will cross paths ( literally, since Fashloum and Al Dahmani are almost one) in making this country as good as it should be.

Thanks

Mahmoud

Dear Mohammed

Thank you for your comment. I am currently an active  resident of Fashloum , where I was born and raised. However My Father (Blessed his soul) comes from Surman as well and had studied in Mizran before WWII and resided here in Tripoli. I still have my big family in Surman and it is a close city to my heart

As you mentioned the spelling of the last name looks different. Unfortunately that is what the Libyan immigration chose for me when they issued my Passport long time ago and I had to stick to It as it become the official One.

Hi Mahmoud-

Thanks so much for your update.  Yes, I am beginning to realize that there are communication problems from Libya.  I did call Mohamed "Blue Eyes" last week and had a nice chat.  Also, when I was last there in Tripoli, Salah said he sent me two letters last year which I never received.  I tried to get the guys at the museum to communicate, but so far I haven't heard from them.

I am still putting together a prototype model, about 20x20cm, of the Red Castle, but we are very busy with a rush job for Macau China right now.  I think I may have to put off my journey to Libya until June at this rate.  But I need to know from someone at the museum if the small models are something of interest to mass produce for tourist sales, and then also produce a slightly larger model with more detail for corporate sponsorship of restoration of significant architectural sites.

I hope all settles down to some calm and constructive vision for Libya.  I will keep in touch with you on my model project for Red Castle and certainly invite comments and suggestions.

Kind regards to All

Thanks so much Mahmoud.  In all my years of doing business in the mideast (over 20 yrs) the Libyan people stand apart from the others.  It is difficult to pinpoint exactly, but one word that comes to mind is sincerity.  I would like to make contact again with Essum and Mohmed who work at the museum becuase they ask me to find an architect/designer who could help with restoration of some of the historical buildings of Tripoli which were bastardized by Qhadafi for this own glorification.  I'm still working on finding the best person to refer, and I am very much eager to be a part of this transformation for the people of Libya.  I'm sure there are many more pressing issues in New Libya such as jobs, shelter, and calm, but it is also a worthy cause to care for the rich history and pride of the people.

Hi Mohmoud-  Can I ask you to check on my friends in Tripoli?  They have given me their email but I do not get replies.  They usually are at the clock tower cafe in old city every morning about 10:30-12:00 noon.  My dear friend Salah (really into old American songs and movies and calls himself the Bob Hope of Libya) in his early 60's and wears a ball cap, Mohamed "Blue Eyes" about 62 yrs.  Then there is Essam and Mohamed "Sweden" from the museum.  I have sent them a message to join this forum, but don't know if they got it.  They are of meager means and don't have a good source for internet.  Kind regards to All.

Hi Mohmoud

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments.  Yes, Herman Cain was my man for the DC office....mostly because he was a Washington outsider and made common "street level sense".  The thugs and narcissists in DC didn't like Mr. Cain's plain honesty and truth and "assassinated" him through the US press.  DC is a good-old-boy's club and you normally enter by invitation only.  I am very sad to say that too often US elections are not much more flim-flam social media contests with rock stars as candidates.....sorry about the glib, snide attitude.  I hope better for Libya.  Be careful on your journy to freedom....there are many robbers along the way.  Kind regards

Hello Mahmoud from California.  I would like to be invoilved in re-build Libya.  I was in Tripoli January 2012, as a consultant to a large Dubai firm, to make a housing proposal to the NTC.  I would like to return on my own behalf for the 20-24 May 2012 LIBYA BUILD construction show in Tripoli.  I find the show space fee to be a little costly, but maybe it is possible to share a stand with other small businesses.  Your thoughts would be most welcome.  Kind regards, Doug
